Well, it’s snowing again here in Texas…so weird! This has apparently been one of the coldest winters on record for the state which leaves this California girl yearning for spring! While doing so, I got caught up looking through the Anthropologie website and found these adorable aprons that were so chic I kind of wish they made them as dresses:
While I was on the domestic chic train (woooo-woooo!), I hopped on over to World Market to see what upcoming seasonal goodies they had and fell in LOVE with these new table clothes and vintage looking goblets:
So, what does one do when one is inspired to “re-do”? I found the most needy room in my house and went on a super low budget sprucing…My master bedroom:
It’s not even close to being done, but for what I was able to accomplish for FREE, I did…
I recently inherited my grandmother’s cedar chest, which I placed at the end of the bed, cut some branches off the tree in my front yard (which needed to be trimmed anyway), spray painted some frames for over the bed and did a little bit of re-accessorizing.
I found these light fixtures on the World Market website that I’d like to eventually place over the night stands, replacing the lamps:
By the way, take a look at the spectacular paint job my husband did:
The yellow was what was on the walls when we bought the house…not easy to wake up to, let me tell you! He taped off 18″ sections all the way around the room and, using the same color, painted every other section in semi gloss and flat, which created this:
It’s so subtle but its little touches like that that create drama and I love it!
So NEXT, there will be some built in’s done for two of the walls you can’t see and hopefully my downstairs white slip covered love seat will make it’s way up to the master after I find some chairs to replace it with in the living room…it’s always something, isn’t it? Is a house EVER really done? And if it is, doesn’t that mean it’s time to sell and start on a new one? It’s a vicious cycle!Stay warm everyone…spring will come eventually!

Awesome paint job! And I love those aprons too. I got two at my bridal shower and use them a lot. I actually made one into an outfit for Thanksgiving day: jeans, white collar shirt, apron, and heels! All I was missing was a strand of pearls, lol!
the problem with aprons like that is that i dont want to cook in them – too cute to get dirty!
