I’m still here despite the fact that the lights have been out on the blog for a few weeks. I’ve been consumed with house staging, house hunting, showings, inspections, driving back and forth to Houston weekly and working on projects with clients. The one thing I HAVEN’T been doing is writing and for that, I apologize. Ours house has sold (yeah!) and so the hunt is officially ON!
Yesterday a house popped up on the market that both my husband and I were beyond excited about (which says A LOT because we haven’t agreed on most of what we’ve seen). I’m absolutely DYING to see it in person but I have to wait until Thursday due to this week’s crazy schedule. I can’t even convey my level of stress and excitement because part of me just KNOWS it’s going to be gone by the time I can get to it. The other part of me KNOWS that the right house will find us and that it will be what is meant to be. Ahhhh! This whole faith thing is truly hard for me to handle especially when it comes to homes. Homes are my business and I take my business personally. There IS no divide.
With this particular home in mind, I haven’t been able to help but start designing it in my mind, especially the kitchen. I can’t wait to get in and rip out old counter tops and golden oak cabinets and go to town. Here’s an example of some of the ideas I’m obsessing over:
Glossy black cabinets, nickel hardware, marble counter tops and back splash. Soooo in LOVE.
That hood is to die for. Probably too big for the space in question but a smaller version of this would be amazing.
I love how this gorgeous butcher block island is build over cabinetry for hidden storage. And of course, you KNOW that in MY kitchen there WILL be open shelving.
I’m obsessed with glass storage jars and absolutely LOVE how clean and yet accessible everything appears here.
And lastly, I came across this while searching lighting for a client and have decided that I NEED them, maybe over the island or possibly two hung over my dining room table. I absolutely love it.
So, now that you’ve had a look at the kitchen that is currently without house, what do you think?
Please pray that my house is still available on Thursday when I can get to her. Let there be no other offers, let it just not be QUITE right for the people who have looked at her before I get there. Let it be too big of a project for the others. Let it be just perfect for us.
And if not, let our house be ready for us to find her this Thursday.
This girl is tired.
Have a lovely day,
P.S. I’ve added an easy way for you to pin images from my posts. Just hover over the image and a pin it button will appear.
