San Francisco Love

San Francisco Love

My favorite city in the whole world…How I miss you!

The first time I visited this amazing city, I will never forget. I was probably around 7 or 8 and my parents and I were on a west coast camping extravaganza for the summer. We were camped somewhere near the Redwood Forest and drove our camper truck into the city. I held on tight up in my bunk bed above the cab of the truck, laying on my stomach as I always did, watching out the large rectangular window as my dad carefully hugged the curvy road that would lead us there. As we came around the bend, there she was: The Golden Gate Bridge, in all her glory with the most amazingly scenic city shining behind her.

I got my first pair of gold hoop earrings that trip. They were so so tiny but my mom had always told me that hoops were for older girls so I thought I was pretty awesome wearing them. I still have one of them floating around in my jewelry box.

I was completely awestruck by the hills and the spectacular architecture. Even as a little girl, I knew this was special.

I held on REALLY tight up in my perch above the cab of the truck as we went down Lombard Street

Street cars were beyond fascinating

as was the hustle and bustle of China Town

And the food….OMG….the food. Sour dough bread to this day is my favorite bread EVER. It's also my waist line's worst enemy. Moderation…just repeat that

So it was only natural that as I grew up and further explored this love of my life, this place that holds so many special memories that I should consider it my second home. I know that city like a local and yet I'm always surprised to find something new. It's so full of hidden treasure.

It is also completely natural that I would become a life long 49er fan…you know, that little old team that's planing in New Orleans this weekend in the Super Bowl. Sorry, I can't help but brag a little. After all, I can't help but feel that my rooting and hoping and cheering (and the occasional weird ritual to guarantee a win…I'm not telling you what it is, so don't bother asking) had something to do with their success.

SF 49ers

BEST TEAM EVER!

Joe Montana

Joe Montana, the man!

Joe Montana was my all time favorite quarterback. The baton has been passed a few times and it's been 18 years since the Niners have been to the Super Bowl

Colin Kaepernick

If we win, we'll be tied with the Steelers for Super Bowl wins 6-0!

Good luck boys! This is the first time in history that the coaches of both teams playing are brothers. Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh bowl. Can't wait!

Have a great weekend. Even if you don't care about the game one way or another, I hope you enjoy some great food and time with friends and family. Super Bowl is like a holiday at our house so we will be celebrating accordingly.

And if you have never visited San Francisco and you have the opportunity, DO NOT MISS IT. It's worth it!

xo,

Renee
