Didn't we just do this a couple of months ago? I know I am beginning to sound like one of those “older women” I used to hear when I was a kid, always saying things like, “the older you get the faster time flies”. Turns out, they were right. Go figure.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays ever, namely because I LOVE to cook Thanksgiving dinner. This year though, because it totally snuck up on me, we didn't make big plans here at the Casa. Instead, we are going to my sister-in-law's house where there will be other hands involved in the fixings and while part of me is a little disappointed not to get to do the whole dinner myself, I have to admit, I am relieved and really looking forward to spending the evening with little nieces and nephews and my husband's sweet family.
So, instead of doing the whole shebang myself, here's what I'll be contributing to the feast:
Appetizers: Ina Garten's Sausage-Herb Stuffed Mushrooms
and I figured since I'm making stuffing for appetizers, I may as well just keep on going:

And maybe for good measure, just a touch of this:
Tyler Florence's Orange Cranberry Sauce
(SO good I could just eat this over ice cream)
And then for desert…let me just say, Ahhh-Mazing. Kind of a break from traditional pumpkin pie and it makes quite a visual statement:

We should be good and tranqualized by the conclusion of the evening and I just cannot wait. I'll be the one wearing stretchy pants.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday whether you are spending it with lots of family and friends or having a quiet time with people you love. This is just my favorite time of year and I plan on savoring every ounce of it. I hope the same for you.
