Part of what she asked for was a sense of the outdoors. Being outdoor people, they love organic elements but didn’t want the room to feel so casual that the room would lose it’s sense of elegance.
The large mirror is a giant leaning mirror that would help maximise the light they desperately need and the three Moroccan mirrors would lead up the staircase, almost mimicking windows.
The art brings in a splash of color as do the pillows. The rug, coffee table and willow trees for either side of the fireplace add an organic/outdoorsy element.
The sofa and chairs remain neutral , which takes that fear of commitment out of the equation and the cowhide rug just adds some additional texture and personality to the space.
Because the space is so large, I suggested two of the curved sectionals facing each other with the chairs off to the side, flanking the sideboard which could be brought over to the conversation area when needed. This keeps the lines clean and the flow balanced.
So there we have it!
Thanks, Kathleen for writing to me and we can’t wait to see the finished product!

I am so grateful I had you to consult with on my living room. I never would have had the guts to choose the Mediterranean blue curtains and they totally MAKE the room. Thanks for you help!
You have great taste, Robyn! All I did was hold your hand.
