Seems like forever since I’ve posted here…oh wait, it HAS been forever.
Something many of you may not know about me is that in addition to being obsessed with all things design related, I’m also a bit of an amateur foodie and wanna be nutritionist. If the idea of going back to school to get a degree in nutrition wasn’t so daunting, I’d do it in a New York minute. BUT, being that I am a mom, a wife, an small business owner and a part time employee of Whole Foods, this just isn’t going to happen. SO what do I do instead to stimulate my constant need to know more about what I’m eating? I read and read and read. My sister and my mom turned me on to the most amazing book/cook book recently and I’ve been completely obsessed with it.
This book will challenge EVERYTHING you’ve been told your entire life about healthy eating and provides significant studies and scientific information to back up it’s claims. In addition to the shocking (and sometimes infuriating) information, there are hundreds of amazing recipes that will take you back to the way your grandmother used to cook and it makes you ask, “Why did we try to fix what wasn’t broken in the first place?”
If you enjoy cooking and/or eating I highly suggest picking this baby up. It could change your entire view of the food processing industry and make you want to go back to a simpler time when we did our best to provide our food for ourselves by way of gardening, canning and were less dependent on fast food and microwavable meals.
Has anyone else out there read this? If so, what was your opinion of it? I’d LOVE to hear what you thought!
