Yesterday, my latest issue of Pottery Barn Kids catalog showed up in the mail and as usual, I began pouring through the pages looking for inspiration for my 5 year old son’s room. I was surprised to find myself fascinated by a couple of the nursery photos that caught my eye and I think I may have even felt my uterus twitch just a couple of times….uh oh!
Loving the decals they have for the walls now. I’m thinking this would even look cute in my bathroom!
This had me yearning for the days when my daughter was little.
Thanks to my go to fashionista educators, The Bon Bon Rose girls, I’ve become seriously addicted to Nichole Richi’s House of Harlow 1960. This is SO truly my style it should be given to me for free….do you hear me, Nichole? Please?
My key obsession isn’t getting any better, especially after seeing these
I’m not sure I could pull off the whole princess head gear thing but it looks gorgeous on her and so it makes me want it. Love love love all of it. I could post pictures all day of my favorites, but I suggest you just check it out for yourself. By the way, if my husband is reading this, any of these would work for our anniversary…just saying!
Today was field trip day! It’s so incredibly hot out here in Texas but did that stop us…NO SIR!
This week I have had the pleasure of having my sweet niece visiting from Kansas City and we have had some fun! My own daughter, being grown up and living in CA, I’ve missed shopping with girls so Ms. H was a breath of fresh air.
We went today to visit one of my favorite design stores, IO Metro in Allen.
Talk about a fun store. I love the visual effect that hits you the moment you walk in the door. It’s fresh, organic and relaxed and best of all, the prices are remarkably reasonable.
Everything in the store is laid out beautifully. Their visual director as well as their buyer is really talented.
I fell in love with this whole vinnete. So pretty!
They have beautiful sofas, chaises, chairs etc…Cayman loved this day bed the best
Beautiful lines on this simply elegant chair
I had a dream the other night about this painting…think the universe is telling me something?
Everything about this grouping makes me happy. Those lamps are to die for
This is my FAVORITE piece in the store and the thing I’ve been toying with in my mind since I first stumbled in. I think I NEED it.
This bonsi tree just absolutely fascinate me. It’s straight out of a Dr. Suesse book and I love the whimsy of it’s shape.
So after a visually stimulating hour in the store, we ventured through the 100 degree heat down to the giant chess board to play. This was Cayman’s reward for being such a good boy and indulging us girls on our shopping venture.
Among all of the other very generic lovelies that my Y2K house came equipped with, the master bathroom may be the most vanilla of all (and by vanilla, I don’t mean Bryers Vanilla Bean…yummmm….I’m talking the cheap stuff you reserve strictly for kids birthday parties).
We have the ugliest golden oak, builder grade double sink vanity that measures 60″ with about 4-6 inches to spare next to the toilet…it’s not that much space. I’ve been searching for ideas to make the space a bit more elegant and more user friendly and here’s what I’ve found (everything borrowed from Decore Pad)
I LOVE the open, old school-ness of this look but I’m pretty sure it would force me to renovate my ENTIRE bathroom, which I’m not looking to do…
This is beautiful but I’m pretty sure my husband would find it too girlie..I DO love square vessel sinks though.
Loving the green tile and that faucet
The color and texture of this speaks to me
Those faucets coming out of the mirror…YUM!
I LOVE these and the shape and the metal totally matches my bed
The double version of it…Leave it to Nate Berkus to make a wooden pig look chic in a bathroom.
I don’t think I’d want maple, but I do love the center storage area…we could use that.
That glass tile is spectacular, isn’t it?
This is GORGEOUS…now we’re getting warmer…
How cool is that trough sink?? I wonder if I’d be scraping tooth paste off one side more than the other…know what I’m saying?
I’m leaning towards an open shelf concept in an attempt to open space in the tiny master bath…
Or something like this that has open shelving integrated into it.
Then I saw this and fell in love…this has the entire feel I want.
What have you done in your bathrooms? I’d love to see pictures!
My sister in law, Melissa did a KILLER job on her master bath…note the envy/admiration in my tone.
The owners of this amazing Brooklyn brownstone found fantastic balance between contemporary and rustic and I’m LOVING it! Of course, I’d do just about anything to live in a brownstone (secret fantasy of mine…not so secret now).
